Food is life!
Food is what brings me joy. I plan my day around when and what I’m going to eat. When I’m eating lunch, I’m thinking about what I can have for dinner.
Please tell me I’m not alone. Where are my foodie friends at?
But I’m definetly a foodie gone wrong. Over the past couple years, I’ve been reluctantly working to eliminate foods from my diet to see what’s upsetting my stomach and causing my digestive issues.
To the point where I finally decided to get a blood test to truly discover what foods were triggering my illness. After waiting a few weeks, I found out some shocking news.
Barley, Potatos, Dairy, Wheat, Kidney Beans, Egg Whites, Pea & Yeast.
Now I know what you’re thinking – here’s another annoying person with a food allergy. But if you are blessed with good gut health, think about the last time you had the flu – that’s what it’s like every time we eat wheat or dairy. So you just sit over there and eat your delicious deep dish pizza in silence.
So for the next few months, I’m on a new adventure of food combinations. Surprisingly enough, I’ve tried some new foods I actually love and I don’t really miss dairy all that much but that might be because I ate all the chocolate, milk and cream in the fridge so I wouldn’t be tempted anymore.
So now I’m ACTUALLY going to see if food is fuel because I’ve never truly cut everthing out of my diet at once. Check back in weekly for new recipes along with progress & lifestyle posts.
